2021 County Report for Co. Limerick

Taking advantage of the long lockdown in early 2021, I revised the list of some 335 taxa for a Limerick Rare Plant Register and wrote draft accounts. Targeted fieldwork over the season resulted in updates and several new finds for about 175 taxa, mainly by myself and Julian Reynolds, also by our colleagues Mike Quirke, Paul Murphy and Tom Harrington and a couple of others; only about 20 species were not refound. The Rare Plant Register was completed in December and should soon be uploaded to the BSBI’s Rare Plant Registers webpage. As in previous years, details of good finds in 2021 will be published in my annual Limerick report in Irish Botanical News No. 32 in spring 2022.
