Taraxacum pseudoretroflexum “Spur-lobed Dandelion”
Section: Ruderalia
Introduced. A scarce weed, found mostly in urban areas in England and Wales. One Scottish record near Glasgow and two near Dublin.
T. pseudoretroflexum is a large, suberect, mid-green species with winged petioles, the inner pink and the outer white. It is markedly heterophyllous, but all end-lobes are obtuse to rounded with a marked apiculate apex. Capitula are large, often 60 mm when fully open and exterior bracts are reflexed with a long narrow and finely acute apex. Compare T. aberrans, which has different bracts.
