Taraxacum pachymerum “Dirty-leaved Dandelion”
Section: Ruderalia
Native. Generally distributed through England, Wales and southern Scotland, locally frequent. Trodden places, paths, pavement cracks, walls, urban sites. Withstands trampling well.
T. pachymerum is a squat plant with crowded leaves and leaf-lobes, tar-marked at interlobes and with consistently red, wide-winged petioles. It is quite homophyllous, the leaf end-lobes being rather short and obtuse throughout. The exterior bracts are rather narrow and untidily recurved-reflexed.
