Taraxacum insigne E.Ekman ex M.P.Christ. & Wiinst. “Remarkable Dandelion”
- Taraxacum ordinatum Hagend., Soest & Zevenb.
Native. Widespread and locally frequent throughout Britain, but much less common than formerly. Grasslands, verges and especially lane-banks.
T. insigne is best identified by its bracts which are long, narrow and spreading, like spokes of a wheel and amongst our species could only be confused with T. obliquilobum. It has green winged petioles and a narrowly oblanceolate multilobate leaf.
