Taraxacum ancistrolobum “Few-lobed Dandelion”
Section: Ruderalia
Native. Widespread and often very common in much of England and Wales, but scarce to absent in East Anglia, the south-west and Scotland. Most ruderal, waste places and often in towns, but also found at the edges of woodland.
T.ancistrolobum is a Piceata group species with green winged petioles but some colour on the midrib above. With only 2-3 (4) very heavy recurved side-lobes of a rather lustrous dark green it is one of the easiest dandelions to identify. Unlike most Piceata species the exterior bracts usually have no colour and are not particularly heavy.
