BSBI Handbook #21, the Monograph of British and Irish Hieracium section Foliosa and section Prenanthoidea by Tim Rich & David McCosh, the latest in the series of BSBI Handbooks, was published in February 2021.
Hawkweeds (Hieracium spp.) are considered one of the trickiest groups of plants in Britain and Ireland; this new Handbook is the third to provide identification guidance for a group of hawkweeds and comes hot on the heels of last year's Hawkweeds of south-east England, BSBI Handbook #21, by Mike Shaw.
The Monograph of British and Irish Hieracium section Foliosa and section Prenanthoidea covers 26 species from mainly hilly and mountainous parts of Wales (five species); England (six species); Scotland (ten species); and Ireland (five species). The book is hardback, A4 in size, 106pp and is in colour throughout.
The book is available as an eBook from the BSBI website for £10.00 or from Summerfield Books and other natural history booksellers (RRP £30.00 (plus postage & packing)).
