Broomrapes of Britain & Ireland, BSBI Handbook number 22, is by Dr Chris Thorogood, Deputy Director and Head of Science at the University of Oxford Botanic Garden and Arboretum, and Dr Fred Rumsey, Senior Curator in Charge of Historical Collections, Algae, Fungi and Plants Division, Life Sciences Department at the Natural History Museum, London. It was published on 1st May 2021.
This Handbook is 152 pages long and covers 16 species and 7 infra-specific taxa in the family Orobanchaceae, providing identification guidance and keys as well as information on life-cycle, habitats and ecology.
The Handbook is illustrated in colour throughout with photographs, line drawings and BSBI distribution maps, many of which compare the distributions of these parasitic plants with those of their primary hosts.
