Terms and Conditions
- Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in our lottery, organised by the Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland (BSBI), a registered charity. This lottery is being run as a Small Society Lottery. By entering the lottery, you agree to abide by these terms. Please read them carefully.
All income from the lottery will be used to support the work of the BSBI.
- Eligibility
2.1. To participate in the lottery, you must be at least 18 years old.
2.2. Employees, members of the Board of Trustees, President and President-elect of BSBI are not eligible to enter.
- How to Enter
3.1. Tickets can be purchased online via our official website.
3.2. Each ticket costs £10.00 / €11.90 and is valid for one entry into the lottery draw.
3.3. Individuals may purchase multiple tickets; each valid for one entry into the lottery draw.
3.4. Entries must be submitted by the deadline specified on our website or promotional materials. Late entries will not be considered.
3.5 The lottery will be open from 00:01am Monday 7th October 2024 to midnight Monday 30th December 2024.
- Draw and Prizes
4.1. The lottery draw will be conducted on Monday 6th January 2025 using the RandomPicker online platform. All entries will be anonymised before the draw.
4.2. The prize for the lottery are as follows:
- 1 [one] place on the Rhodes Orchid Odyssey holiday, organised by Greenwings Wildlife Holidays, taking place from 1st to 8th April 2025. Full details.
4.3. Winners will be notified within 14 days of the draw date via email and/or phone.
4.4. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Please ensure you are able to take up the prize before entering.
- Data Protection
5.1. By entering the lottery, you consent to BSBI collecting and processing your personal data for the purpose of administering the lottery. If you are chosen as the winner of the lottery, your contact information will be passed to a representative of Greenwings for the purposes of delivering the prize.
5.2. Your data will be held in accordance with our Privacy Policy and relevant data protection laws.
5.3. It is your responsibility to advise us if you change your name or contact details between buying a ticket and the draw date.
- Responsible Gambling
6.1. We promote responsible gambling. If you believe you may have a gambling problem, please seek help from a relevant organisation such as GambleAware.
6.2. We reserve the right to exclude individuals who are found to be participating in the lottery in a manner that is not in line with responsible gambling practices.
- Cancellation and Refunds
7.1. BSBI reserves the right to cancel the lottery if necessary. In such cases, all entry fees will be refunded.
7.2. No refunds will be given for entries once the draw has taken place, except in the case of lottery cancellation.
- Liability
8.1. BSBI accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from your participation in the lottery or from any technical issues that may prevent entry or affect the draw.
8.2. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses arising from your participation.
- Amendments
9.1. BSBI reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website and will be effective immediately.
9.2. Continued participation in the lottery following such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms and Conditions.
- Governing Law
10.1. These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
10.2. Any disputes arising from or in connection with the lottery will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
