The Flora of Bedfordshire represents years of recording and research, combined with help from members of local and national societies, allowing for the collection of some 400,000 records on which this book is based. For flowering plants, the recording period is 1987-2006 whilst for the bryophytes it is 1970-2010. Introductory chapters set the flora in context with the history of botanical recording and the geology of the county. The work is enhanced with photographs by Richard Revels and paintings from the 19th century by Caroline Gaye.
