Taraxacum pannulatiforme “Tar-blotched Dandelion”
Section: Ruderalia
Scattered through northern and western England, Wales and Scotland, rare in the south-east. Mostly in semi-natural habitats, lane banks, woodland margins, species-rich grasslands.
T. pannulatiforme has green narrowly winged petioles and rather narrow, recurved-reflexed exterior bracts. It is a fairly robust species with ascending, multilobate leaves which are scarcely heterophyllous, the side-lobes recurved and strongly dentate distally. It can be confused with T. pallescens, which has Alata-type bracts, and with T. nigridentatum which is more dissected with strongly tar-marked teeth and interlobes.
