A rather large, prostrate to ascending dandelion with many narrowly lanceolate rather dark green hairy leaves. Petioles rather long,  narrowly winged, white on outer leaves, pink on inners, sometimes faintly so. Leaf side-lobes 3-5, short, sigmoid, somewhat recurved. Leaf terminal lobes, long, subdivided, subacute, becoming longer in inner leaves when almost half the leaf length. Exterior bracts spreading, rather broad and forming a ruff as In T. acroglossum. Capitulum rather large, to 60 mm diameter +, more or less flat when expanded. Apart from T. acroglossum which has more acute leaf end-lobes, most likely to be confused with T. aequisectum in which the leaf end-lobe is much shorter.
