Taraxacum dilatatum “Grassland Dandelion”
Section: Ruderalia
Native. Generally distributed and not uncommon in south-western and northern England, and south Wales, scattered in Scotland and absent from south-east England. Often in semi-natural habitats, old hedge-banks, woodland margins etc.
T. dilatatum is best characterised by the consistently red petioles with clearly demarcated green wings. The grey-green bracts are short and recurved, and the leaves rather narrow and multilobate. It is not a big species, tending to grow rather neatly and squat.
