Jonathan Shanklin

This meeting is intended to introduce beginners to the flora of a relatively ordinary place and how to record it. Coton Countryside Reserve is an interesting mix of arable fields, managed chalk grassland and with some un-improved areas. Notable native species include Ervum gracile (Slender Tare) and there are casuals of uncertain origin such as Isatis tinctoria (Woad). The terrain is generally even, though access to the chalk grassland requires an ascent of 30m.
