Birks o'Aberfeldy II Mid Perthshire 26th July 2020recording beginners
The second of two one-day meetings to explore the Birks o’ Aberfeldy. The emphasis of this field meeting will be on learning and we particularly welcome anyone who has not been on a BSBI field meeting before. An earlier visit will look for spring flowering species, but that visit is likely to miss species that flower later in the season. So, we would hope to see species such as Melampyrum sylvaticum (Small Cow-wheat) and the woodland grasses Drymochloa sylvestris (Wood Fescue), Bromopsis ramosa (Hairy-brome) and possibly Bromopsis benekenii (Lesser Hairy-brome). A reasonable level of fitness, waterproofs, strong shoes and a packed lunch will be required.
